Our services.

  • Workforce Readiness Training

Participants begin the program with workforce readiness training designed to prepare them for entry-level employment opportunities. Training focuses on workplace communication, professional conduct, resume development, interview preparation, and job search strategies. Courses are available virtually through our Angel Taught Me Online Training Academy, allowing participants to complete training remotely while continuing to receive case management and program support.

  • Industry Certifications

Participants may also pursue industry-recognized certifications that help strengthen their qualifications for employment in high-demand industries. Certification opportunities may include ServSafe Food Protection Certification, OSHA-10 Workplace Safety Certification, Customer Service training, and Digital Literacy and Basic Computer Skills training. All training materials, certification preparation, and credentialing opportunities are provided at no cost to eligible SNAP participants.

  • Supportive Services

To support successful participation and program completion, the SNAP E&T program provides supportive services that help remove barriers to employment and training. Eligible participants may receive assistance with transportation, credential exam fees, work clothing or tools, and childcare when applicable. These supports are designed to ensure participants can fully engage in training activities and remain on track toward employment.

  • How To Participate

The SNAP Employment & Training program serves active SNAP recipients referred through the Maryland Department of Human Services. Participants work with program staff to complete assessments, develop an Individual Employment Plan, and engage in training activities that support their pathway to employment. Our goal is to help participants build practical job skills, earn credentials when appropriate, and successfully transition into the workforce.
